Profile:

I am currently an Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, having completed my training contract at Jones Day.

I completed a winter vacation scheme with Jones Day in 2016, which subsequently led to my training contract offer with the firm. I will be joining Jones Day as a trainee in September 2019. My other legal work experience has included an in-house role at Selfridges Group and a shadowing role with a high street firm.

As a first-generation immigrant growing up in a rural part of Somerset, I experienced first-hand the importance of increasing diversity in our workplaces. Diversity is often seen as an important factor advertised in the prospectuses and brochures of many institutions, but often the actions taken to achieve such ends can be lacking. I truly believe that with greater diversity comes a greater wealth of cultures, experiences and knowledge, all of which help contribute to a better society.

I owe a great debt to Aspiring Solicitors for arming me with not only the tools but also the confidence I needed to pursue my dream of being a commercial solicitor. Being able to interact with solicitors, graduate recruitment, and many other professionals through Aspiring Solicitors has been invaluable in developing my understanding of the legal world; I have no doubt that these opportunities will prove as advantageous for you as they did for me.
