What is AS Aspire?

AS Aspire is a leading, exclusive 3 month programme for selected Aspiring Solicitors members which includes the opportunity to receive careers and employability coaching from our expert legal coaching team, participate in legal mentoring schemes and attend bespoke AS law-firm events. Benefit from career strategy sessions, application guidance, commercial workshops, mock interviews, application review and assessment centre preparation, to sharpen your application skills for vacation schemes.

What does AS Aspire include?

AS Aspire is the leading UK coaching programme developed by former lawyers at leading UK law firms that will strengthen your applications and improve your chances of securing vacation schemes and training contracts. Participate in:

  • Bespoke employability workshops from AS coaches focusing on law firms’ end to end application processes
  • Firm-specific mentoring schemes including: Black Aspiring Solicitors Scheme (BASS), Ethnic Minority, Social Mobility, STEM and Disability Schemes
  • Corporate mentoring schemes: including leading law firms partnering with clients (often FTSE 100 companies) providing participants with in-house and private practice mentors
  • Unique events and insight days with law firms
  • 1-2-1 Mock interviews for those who reach assessment centre
  • Application review

Eligibility

Anyone in their first year of a Law degree or first/second year of a non-Law degree in 2025/2026 is not eligible. To apply for this opportunity, you must be a:

  • second year Law or final year Law undergraduate;
  • final year non-Law undergraduate;
  • graduate of any degree;
  • postgraduate student (including GDL/LPC/LLM or other postgraduate degrees);
  • career changer; or
  • someone who has completed a degree and is working.

Should you meet the above eligibility, you must also:

  • be an Aspiring Solicitors member (from at least one of our underrepresented groups);
  • have received ABB at A Level (or the international equivalent) (please note we genuinely take into account mitigating circumstances and usually enjoy 30-50% NRG participants);
  • have received or be on target for at least a 2.1 degree classification (please note we take into account mitigating circumstances);
  • have an interest in pursuing a legal career in the UK or Ireland;
  • not have accepted a training contract with any law firm or legal team;
  • not have been on Aspire previously;
  • be eligible to apply for a vacation scheme in the 2025/26 academic year;
  • be resident in the UK or Ireland in the academic year 2025/2026; and
  • ideally be physically present in the UK between September 2025 until December 2025 (to attend interviews and/or vacation schemes in person)

What is the application process?

Please complete the Aspire application form as fully and accurately as possible, making use of the word count at each stage. Please ensure that your academic grades are accurate, as we may ask for a transcript at any stage should we need to. You may use predicted grades where grades are not yet confirmed.

We strictly do not allow for the use of AI in any AS application. AI generated answers will be checked and automatically screened out by us.  These questions are for you to demonstrate to AS your motivations for your career, so we can help you achieve your aspirations so please ensure you answer these questions personally without any external/third party input.

When will Aspire run?

Mid July – End of September 2025 – exact dates to be confirmed.

Monday 30th June at 5pm.  Aspire is a competitive programme. We therefore encourage you to apply as soon as you are able to as we review on a rolling basis and spaces are limited.
