Profile:

I studied my undergraduate degree at UCL and will commence my Training Contract with Cleary Gottlieb in 2020/21.

Coming from a background with no connections to the legal industry, I was fortunate to have discovered Aspiring Solicitors. AS’ vast range of open days provided contact with many different law firms, allowing me to gain valuable insight into the skills and qualities required in the profession, as well as what makes each firm unique. The AS Commercial Awareness Competition was also greatly instrumental in developing my commercial acumen, and it was through AS that I was able to encounter a diverse group of people with whom I have developed valuable relationships.

To me, diversity means the appreciation of differences and understanding the values different people can bring. Through my interactions with a broad range of people, I was able to learn and grow as an individual. At a personal level, diversity also means being proud of who you are.

One of the first things that Chris White emphasised when I attended an AS event was the importance of not seeing your background as a disadvantage, whether it’s your accent, your skin colour, or your university. Your background and circumstances are part of you, and it’s important to appreciate what makes you unique as an individual. One of the main reasons I was able to obtain a Training Contract is undoubtedly the people who have assisted me during the application process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me here or on LinkedIn. I will be more than happy to help!
