Profile:

I am a Future Trainee Associate at Weil, due to start my Training Contract in August 2025. I am currently completing the SQE 1 & 2 and pursuing a Legal Practice LLM at the University of Law, Moorgate.

Originally from India, I am the first in my family to study law and the first to study abroad. I arrived in the UK with just two suitcases and no local connections or prior exposure to the UK legal industry. Navigating this unfamiliar environment, I discovered Aspiring Solicitors (AS) and joined the AS First programme. This became a turning point, giving me access to exclusive open days, targeted
workshops, firm-specific bootcamps, and invaluable exposure to commercial law.

Through AS, I developed a strong network of mentors and professionals who helped me gain a clearer understanding of the legal landscape in the UK. Building on that foundation, I participated in AS Aspire and an AS mentoring scheme with both in-house lawyers and private practice professionals, further deepening my insight into the breadth of legal careers. With the guidance and support of AS, I went on to secure five first-year schemes and three vacation schemes at leading International, Magic Circle, and US firms.

Despite always admiring Weil, I didn’t initially apply due to a lack of confidence. However, I eventually took a chance—and through the firm’s interview process and vacation scheme, I felt genuinely valued for my diverse experiences, including my international background and the multiple hospitality jobs I held during university to support myself. Speaking to a wide range of lawyers and trainees from various
international backgrounds at the firm made me confident and motivated to pursue a
career at such a truly global firm.

I know firsthand how challenging and isolating it can be to pursue a legal career abroad, in a different academic and legal system, while managing financial and emotional pressures. As an AS Mentor, I’m passionate about using my journey to support and uplift others.
