Profile:

Being the first member of my family to go to university, I graduated from the University of
Northampton in 2017. Unsure of how to enter the legal profession and with limited contacts in the
field, applied for Paralegal positions and joined Irwin Mitchell's Medical Negligence team in
Birmingham. I spent 4 years gaining invaluable experience in legal practice and spent time building
my network. Having taken time away from work to complete the LPC, I started my Training Contract
with Irwin Mitchell in August 2022. I have completed seats in the Medical Negligence and Family Law
teams.

Having attended State School and a Non-Russell Group university, I did not enjoy the same
credentials as many of my peers. I found the idea of written applications and assessment centres
very daunting. I was however able to obtain practical, real-life experience in the legal profession as a
Paralegal and continue to develop my skills and network as part of my Training Contract.
As an AS mentor, I am happy to offer advice and support to those beginning a career in law.
