Profile:

I attended a state school and became the first generation of my family to attend university. I studied English at the University of Exeter and began to consider a career in law during my second year. After getting involved with Aspiring Solicitors through the AS First scheme, I was lucky enough to gain work experience with both Network Rail and Barclays in their in-house legal teams during the summer before my final year at university. I also shadowed a barrister at Blackstone Chambers and attended a wide range of firm open days. In my final year, I was a mentee on the AS Aspire scheme, which helped me hugely with my vacation scheme applications. I completed assessment centres at a range of firms (including two Magic Circle firms) before securing vacation schemes at Simmons & Simmons, Addleshaw Goddard and Osborne Clarke. The schemes were all turned virtual due to coronavirus, however I converted two of them into training contract offers and I’m now a future trainee at Addleshaw Goddard, to commence in September 2022. In the meantime I’m studying the GDL at BPP Bristol before moving to London for the LPC.

Diversity matters to me because without the help of the mentors and role-models introduced to me through Aspiring Solicitors, I never could have imagined this path for myself!
