Profile:

I am an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, currently sitting in Antitrust and I have also completed rotations in the Firm’s Infrastructure Finance, Private Equity & M&A, and Finance teams. I completed a law degree from Kingston University and later completed an LLM at the London School of Economics and then the LPC at the University of Law.

My interest in commercial law began at the end of my first year of university. However, I found it difficult to access the legal industry without any contacts in the sector. Aspiring Solicitors (AS) provided the guidance and opportunities to build my network and my knowledge of the legal industry.

I participated in the Aspiring Solicitors Commercial Awareness Competition which developed my commercial awareness, teamwork and public-speaking skills. As a winner of this competition, AS connected me with top City law firms and allowed me to get my first practical experience in commercial law. This was invaluable. With those experiences in hand, I converted Weil’s vacation scheme into a training contract offer.

Recognising the barriers under-represented candidates often face, I now mentor AS participants on the tips that I found useful in securing a training contract. My aim is to share practical insight and encouragement with students who are navigating the profession without established contacts.
