Profile:
My journey into law began in sixth form when I participated in outreach programmes such as A&O Accelerate, which sparked my interest in the legal profession and opened my eyes to the possibilities ahead. I went on to study Law at the University of Oxford, where I immersed myself in numerous first-year schemes and gained invaluable experience during a winter vacation scheme at Allen & Overy in 2022. I graduated with a First Class degree and subsequently completed the SQE before starting my training contract.
Throughout this journey, I’ve been fortunate to benefit from initiatives aimed at improving access to the legal profession, including Rare Recruitment and the Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scheme. These programmes provided not only mentorship and guidance but also a sense of belonging and belief in my potential.
Diversity in law is not just important, it’s essential. The legal profession serves a broad and varied society, and it must reflect that diversity to truly understand and advocate for all. Having experienced the impact of mentoring and support first-hand, I know how transformative it can be. Diversity of thought brings fresh perspectives, challenges assumptions, and ultimately leads to better outcomes for clients and communities alike.
