Profile:

Hi everyone, I’m Kat and I am currently a Trainee Solicitor at Kennedys Law LLP.

I am state school educated and studied Law with a Modern Language (Spanish) LLB at a non- Russell Group university. After graduating, I completed the LPC LLM during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic (which I found pretty tough to say the least!). I then started out my working life as a Paralegal at a national UK firm specialising in high-value and complex litigation disputes, and I spent close to three years in that role before beginning my training contract with Kennedys. Along the way, I’ve built on my legal knowledge, gained practical insight into the legal profession, and developed my understanding of just how important the law can be.

I’m half British and half Spanish and grew up surrounded by two different cultures that have shaped how I see the world – open-mindedly with a true appreciation for different perspectives. Diversity and inclusion are central to who I am and how I aim to approach my work. I am a firm believer that the most meaningful progress can happen when we bring together different people, backgrounds, and perspectives.

I’m passionate about encouraging D&I and committed to supporting the next generation of legal professionals who face obstacles on entry to the profession, whether it be through mentoring or just sharing a bit about what I’ve learnt along my way!
