My Law Firm

Profile:

I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Project Finance team at A&O Shearman’s London office, having previously sat in Debt Finance and Securitisation seats. I recently completed the SQE and graduated from Durham University in 2022, having studied law. 

I was a bit late to the game when applying for vacation schemes. I successfully applied to Shearman & Sterling LLP’s winter scheme in 2022 after graduating and fortunately received a training contracting offer following two weeks at the firm. Before starting my training contract, we merged with Allen & Overy to form A&O Shearman. Experiencing the merger first-hand and being among the first cohort of trainees at the new combined firm has been a thoroughly rewarding and exciting experience.

Having attended a state school and spending most of my childhood and teenage years growing up on a council estate, I understand the challenges associated with entering the legal profession from a non-traditional background. This has fuelled a strong passion to share my experiences, promote inclusion and support aspiring lawyers from all backgrounds.
