My Law Firm

Profile:

I studied my undergraduate degree at the LSE, knowing that I was always going to do the PGDL conversion course, as I had thoroughly enjoyed legal internships at city firms and barristers chambers through Pathways to Law and the Aspiring Professionals Programme during my A Levels. Starting university as a first-generation student from a non-selective state-school in London can have its challenges, but I was determined to make the most of each minute at the LSE and stay undeterred in pursuing my long-held academic and professional ambitions. I applied for many open days and insight evenings, and secured a number of internships and work placements starting with the Bank of England in my first summer of university. My academic background in economics and history paired with these non-law experiences was highly valuable and there are many transferrable skills that can be developed and demonstrated in Vacation Scheme/Training Contract applications. I secured my Training Contract with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, did my PGDL at BPP and, unsurprisingly to everyone around me, loved every minute of Contract and Company law especially.

Fortunately, I have had some truly wonderful people around me, including those from Aspiring Solicitors whose mentorship, support and encouragement has been invaluable during stressful application periods. I am also keen to support others in this way. Please do get in touch if you would like to ask questions about applications, interviews and assessment centres, or more generally about pursuing a career in law.
