I am an Associate in the Leveraged Finance team at Dechert LLP in the London office. I work with a variety of financial institutions, private debt funds, sponsors and corporate borrowers across a range of UK and cross-border acquisition and corporate lending transactions.

I have studied at both private and state schools throughout my primary and secondary education before reading law at the University of Leeds. I completed my training contract at a City law firm before joining Dechert on qualification.

Diversity has vastly improved in the profession, but we still have a long way to go. I can recall many a time where I felt like a fish out of water attending open days and going for interviews in intimidating shiny City offices. Aspiring Solicitors and the Mentors affiliated with it have pioneered the breakthrough of diversity in our profession and have helped people like me to succeed.

It is vitally important we continue to promote and celebrate diversity. We want our profession to be reflective of the society in which we live. This will have a material impact on future generations who will have the opportunity of visualising themselves in the same roles.
