Profile:

I am an Associate at Bristows LLP in the Commercial Intellectual Property / IT team, qualifying in 2016 having completed my training contract here at Bristows. Prior to that I studied Law at Warwick, graduating in 2010, before working as a paralegal for three years at a boutique law firm specialising in anti-bribery and corruption law. I completed the LPC at BPP in 2013/14 and began my training contract in the summer of 2014.

I was state school educated and was the first generation of my family to attend university and enter the legal profession. Having begun applying for training contracts in my second year of university, I fully understand the difficulties facing those attempting to secure a job in law, and indeed gain valuable work experience. I completed nearly four years of training contract and vacation scheme applications before finally securing a place at Bristows. I therefore have experience of various application forms, assessment centres and interviews and would be more than happy to pass on my experience to those in a similar position who are looking for assistance wherever I can.

I passionately believe that talent and hard work should prevail over having contacts and attending the ‘right’ school or university. There is a wealth of talent out there that can strengthen and improve the profession if given the right opportunities. Looking from the outside, attempting to break into the legal profession can seem daunting but whatever your background, with the right support, the law should be open to all. Please do get in contact and I would be more than happy to provide any assistance I can.
