First Generation to go to University

Profile:

I am in my first seat in BCLP’s non-contentious construction team. I studied the SQE at BPP in London after graduating with a law degree from the University of Warwick. I secured my training contract with BCLP in my final year of university having completed a vacation scheme with the firm in summer 2023.

As a state school educated individual and the first generation of my family to attend university, I know how difficult it can be for people from similar backgrounds to find career guidance, secure legal experience, and navigate the application process when trying to break into the legal field.

I took part in Aspiring Solicitors programmes whilst at university, and this was instrumental for me in securing a training contract. I was able to obtain bespoke guidance, connect with like-minded individuals, and receive mentorship from coaches which drastically improved my understanding of the legal industry and how to enter it.

I am now fortunate enough to be in a position where I can help out with people from similar backgrounds find their way in commercial law. Please feel free to get in touch.
