Profile:

I am a future trainee solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in the process of completing the SQE before beginning my training contract in March 2026. I have also previously pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University (Canada) and a Bachelor of Laws from Swansea University.

As an international student studying at a Non-Russell Group university tucked away in Wales, I initially lacked any connections or clear route into the City. I was completely unaware of First Year Schemes and Vacation Schemes and I was not exposed to a single commercial law firm during the first year of my degree. As such, the process of securing my training contract included lots of trial and error. I secured my first legal experience by cold-emailing 46 lawyers across the UK, developed my competencies primarily through university societies, and shaped my direction through mentorship. Aspiring Solicitors also played a crucial role in my journey through the Aspire coaching programme, joint mentorship scheme with HSF Kramer, and Commercial Awareness Competition.

Most of all, I have immensely benefitted from the time and support of countless mentors, many of whom also come from diverse backgrounds and engage with Aspiring Solicitors. Diversity in the legal profession is important to me because my career has and continues to be shaped by doors opened through the sacrifices of those who came before me, and I am wholeheartedly committed to paying everything that I have received forward.
