I am currently a senior corporate solicitor at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Having trained and qualified at Slaughter and May.

In terms of my educational background, I studied at a state school in Hackney. With little guidance available at school in terms of career options and being a first of my generation to go to university, I recall having to figure out much of my university path by myself.

I ended up going to Kings College London to study law. At that time I never would have thought it possible to go from a council estate in Hackney to obtaining a training contract at one of the most prestigious firms in England (in the form of Slaughter and May) and then moving onto one of the biggest law firms in the world (in the form of Kirkland & Ellis LLP). I have participated in numerous presentations to A-level students from backgrounds similar to my self – seeking to provide the career and university advice that I would have found helpful 10 or so years ago.
