Profile:

I am state school educated and part of the first generation of my family to go to University. When I first considered a career in law, I didn’t know anyone in the profession and had no idea what it would entail.

At the age of 16, I applied to the Sutton Trust’s Pathways to Law Programme, an initiative aimed at improving access to the legal profession. With the support of my coordinators and mentors across the two-year programme, I was successful in securing a place at the University of Bristol to study law.

Whilst studying my law degree, I worked two part-time jobs and was fortuntely supported by financial bursaries provided by the Unviersity. I participated  in programmes ran by a number of organisations, such as Aspiring Solicitors and Rare Recruitment, which helped me to gain invaluable work experience in a very competitve field.

I started my Training Contract in Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol Office in August 2022 and have since gained experience in the Workplace Illness and Serious Injury teams. I am currently entering my third seat in the Medical Negligence team.

I am passionate about social mobility and, alongside colleagues in Irwin Mitchell’s ‘IM Aspiring’ group, I work with local schools and initiatives to support access to the legal profession. I am always more than happy to answer any questions or give guidance to aspiring solicitors.
