Profile:

I am the Legal Director at Northridge, responsible for content and knowledge at the firm.

I studied English Literature at the University of Bristol before completing the GDL at the University of Law and the LPC at BPP.

My first insight into law came through an open day at City firm Simmons & Simmons organised by the university.  With no friends or family in the law world, it came as a surprise to see all my fellow open day students in sharp tailored suits. I had opted for a snazzy jumper not realising the City law firm dress code at that time.  Nevertheless, that open day experience ultimately led me to securing a training contract with Simmons & Simmons and I qualified into the firm’s Commercial Litigation team in September 2013.  That experience taught me how many (sometimes subtle) hurdles there can be for some of us when hoping to start a career in law.

I have mentored a number of associates, trainees and future trainees since qualifying, as well as acting as a trainee supervisor for many years.  Since joining Northridge in 2019, I’m also part of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion group and I’m committed to doing whatever I can to support diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
