Profile:

I recently completed my GDL at BPP Law School, where I achieved a Distinction and I have also secured a training contract, following the vacation scheme, with DLA Piper in London, starting in 2019. Over this summer I also completed vacation schemes at Simmons & Simmons, Penningtons Manches and Burges Salmon. Before embarking on law I studied History at the University of Exeter with a study abroad year at the University of Mannheim in Germany.

Pursuing a career in law had always appealed to me, however the legal industry is competitive and challenging, and as a non-law student this was often intimidating. In particular, it can be difficult to gain work experience and the application process is tough. Therefore, at university I tried to attend open days, become involved in my university law society, and speak to people who had already been through the process. Attending the AS Springboard VS+ event was particularly valuable as I was given a lot of help and advice before starting my vacation schemes.

Having benefited greatly from the feedback and assistance I received from Aspiring Solicitors, I very much look forward to helping others who want to pursue a career in law. I am happy to answer questions on applications, interview technique, law school or any other general questions you may have!
