Profile:

I studied computer science at university and then worked in industry as a software programmer. I returned to university to study law (the GDL conversation course), completed the LPC and then worked as a paralegal for a few years. I completed my training contract at Reed Smith and after qualifying in 2012 I worked at a niche media firm and then News International. In 2014 I joined Visa where I worked on IT agreements and digital payment solutions such as Apple Pay. In 2017 I joined Barclaycard and am primarily responsible for drafting contracts with businesses that want to accept credit/debit card transactions and advising on data protection.

Diversity can come in different shades – I am a British-Indian immigrant, I am the first in my family to go to university, my first degree was non-law and I qualified as a solicitor later in life. Some may view these as hurdles but in fact they have been critical to me being a well-rounded lawyer who is able to communicate and problem-solve effectively.
