Profile:

I am a Corporate Associate at Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP’s London office and having trained with the firm, have now been here for over five years. My work largely involves helping clients buy and sell companies with some day-to-day corporate advisory matters.

Working as a corporate solicitor was never a lifelong ambition. I didn’t know of any lawyers growing up and my only image of a lawyer was someone arguing in court. The idea of that did, and still does, fill me with fear. I read Geography (BA) at university and then took a year out, working a variety of temporary roles to get a feel of the work I liked. I soon discovered that there was such a range to the legal profession and decided to pursue a career in law. It wasn’t until my vacation scheme and eventual training contract with SPB, that I realised corporate law in particular was the career for me.

I’ve always looked different to my peers. From secondary school, to university and now the workplace. Being a woman of mixed heritage in corporate law in particular, I’m conscious that not many in the industry look like me (and for the record, I gave up straightening my hair in attempt to fit in years ago). When I was younger and considering career options, I would loved to have seen a familiar face to reach out to and maybe even motivate me. I’m hoping I can now be that person for someone. Please reach out to me if you want to talk.
