Profile:

I am currently a final seat Trainee Solicitor at WBD having experienced seats in Commercial Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial/Data Privacy and currently Commercial Disputes. I was State-school educated up until university where I attended University of York at undergraduate and Northumbria University for the Legal Practice Course. I understand the importance of diversity and how working towards a more diverse and inclusive profession will include a vast range of people, personalities, backgrounds and beliefs.

I hope that by diversifying the legal profession, we can create an environment where no one believes that it is beyond their capabilities, or too many barriers are still in place to allow them to gain access. Growing up and even whilst at University, I was drawn to the fact that I didn’t look or sound like a ‘lawyer,’ being a woman with a North-eastern accent, who was state school educated and whose parents didn’t attend university. However, I am also aware of the many privileges I have experienced, whilst so many continue to meet far more challenging obstacles on their journey into the legal profession. This is why I would like to be a professional ambassador and continue to work towards a future where the legal profession is as diverse and inclusive as the wider world around us.
