Profile:

In August 2025, I qualified as an Associate in Finance (Restructuring) in the DLA Piper London office following completion of my training contract. During my training contract, I was fortunate enough to complete seats in (i) Litigation & Regulation; (ii) Finance (Restructuring); (iii) a secondment to Singapore where I did Finance (Restructuring); and (iv) Corporate. Prior to this, I worked as a Knowledge Paralegal at a Magic Circle firm in the City focusing on Financial Regulation law.

Unlike many, I did not know I wanted to be a lawyer until after I graduated from my History degree. I explored several options and gained voluntary work experience at free legal advice clinics and at a charity which gave legal advice to Afghan refugees. I also always had a part-time job alongside studying which helped me with my confidence and ability to build rapport with clients.

I benefited from the schemes organised by Aspiring Solicitors such as AS Aspire, as well as being paired with two mentors from other City law firms. Aspiring Solicitors was instrumental to me securing a training contract at DLA Piper by supporting with applications, providing 1:1 mock interviews and providing general guidance for navigating the legal sector. I am state-school proud and the first generation of my family to attend university.
