As part of Stephenson Harwood’s Ethnicity Pathway Programme, they are offering Aspiring Solicitors members a two-week placement taking place in either Spring or Summer 2025.
Join the placement scheme and you’ll be sitting with qualified lawyers and tackling some case work. You’ll also benefit from an organised programme of interactive sessions, talks and social events. You will receive an allowance of £485 per week (subject to individual tax circumstances).
A condition of participating in the Ethnicity Pathway Programme is that you are available to attend the one of the either the Spring or summer placement scheme dates and will be based in the UK to participate in the scheme. This placement scheme is held in the firm’s London office without a virtual option.
Who should apply?
The Ethnicity Pathway Programme is open to anyone who is of:
- Bangladeshi heritage, including mixed Bangladeshi heritage
- Black heritage, including mixed Black heritage
- Pakistani heritage, including mixed Pakistani heritage
In addition, applicants must:
- Be an Aspiring Solicitors member.
- Not have accepted a training contract with any law firm or legal team.
- Be a final year law or final year non-law undergraduate student. PGDL and SQE students are welcome to apply, as are graduates and career changers.
- Have an interest in pursuing a legal career.
- Have received or be on target for at least a 2.1 degree classification (excluding mitigating circumstances). For disabled candidates we have a flexed marking criteria, so please contact to enquire about this.
- You must not have previously applied or have made a current application to Stephenson Harwood for a vacation scheme or training contract.
2025 placement scheme dates
There will be three separate placements consisting of two weeks each. You can apply for both or one placement. The dates are:
- Spring placement scheme: 7 April – 17 April 2025
- Summer placement scheme 1: 16 June – 27 June 2025
- Summer placement scheme 2: 14 July – 25 July 2025
