Ashurst’s proactive attitude to diversity continues to be one of the main factors as to why I have thoroughly enjoyed my training contract. The collegiate atmosphere and genuine acceptance of any diversity characteristic allows you to forget that you have a disability. The firm has a long history of employing people with disabilities and has the knowledge required to provide adjustments and communicate candidates’ and employees’ disabilities in a discreet and effective manner. Throughout my training contract and time as a newly qualified solicitor, Ashurst have been supportive and have formed “disABILITY”, an employee-led network that supports those affected by disability at the firm.

Diversity at Ashurst:

Spectrum is the firm’s network for LGBTI+ colleagues and Allies. Spectrum aims to support LGBTI+ colleagues by promoting inclusive language and behaviour and being proactive advocates for LGBTI+ colleagues.

Women’s Network

The Women’s Network provides a forum for women to exchange ideas and best practice, and supports the firm’s gender diversity strategy and achievement of our targets. It organises a varied programme of events and workshops, including an annual International Women’s Day programme and a number of mentoring programmes.

All at Ashurst

All at Ashurst is the firm’s multiculturalism network, which focuses on ethnicity, faith and culture. It organises a wide programme of events to raise awareness and educate on each of these issues.

The disABILITY and resilience network promotes awareness and understanding of disability issues in the workplace, covering both physical disability and the promotion of positive mental health (together with the Wellbeing team), as well as support for those experiencing mental health challenges, where it works in conjuction with our Wellbeing Allies.

Family Matters

Family Matters organises a programme of talks on different aspects of caring responsibilities, the many and varied forms of family life lived by our partners and staff and the challenges of combining family issues with working responsibilities.
