University of Liverpool Legal Society

Why is D&I important to your Law Society?

Our society values diversity and the promotion of law to non-law students.  We understand that these are two central elements that many law firms look to promote and that the GDL is an amazing opportunity that opens doors to many non-law graduates.

Highlights of ways that your Law Society has tried to increase diversity

This year we introduced a new role, a Law for Non-Law Officer, who is worked on specific event ideas. We also arranged workshops with Aspiring Solicitors through our campus ambassador, which was beneficial both in terms of highlighting the importance of diversity and building connections with the other law-related societies that are on campus.

We strive to make our events as open and inviting to everyone, regardless of their background or even their degree course. We aim to be as inclusive as we can be by being approachable in general.
