Hull University Law Society

Why is D&I important to your Law Society?

It is important to us that we provide a space where people feel they can interact with us and each other and where everyone feels included. Different ideas and perspectives are really what make a society thrive.

Highlights of ways that your Law Society has tried to increase diversity

We regularly hold both drinking and non-drinking socials to encourage as many people as possible to get involved. We’ve also set our annual law ball theme as ‘cultural dress’ to celebrate the many different nations and cultures from where our members originate, from Scotland to South Africa.

We aim to continue to host events catering to all socioeconomic backgrounds as well as introducing new events to help support mental health. We regularly hold events which provide beneficial skills such as negotiations and client interviews, as well as regular social events, making it easier for individuals to interact with each other and connect with the society.
