Why is D&I important to your Law Society?
We believe that diversity and inclusion are incredibly important and as a society integrate them into our work. We strive to highlight that opportunities are open to everyone.
Highlights of ways that your Law Society has tried to increase diversity
As a society we help run events which seek to encourage individuals from all backgrounds to consider a legal career. Furthermore, we have created a non-law department which specifically tailors events to students from non-legal subjects, to encourage inclusion.
In addition, we work closely with our partners in running events which encourage diversity and inclusion. For example, we have helped to run women in law panels and encouraged attendance at BAME and LGBT+ inclusion events run by our partners.

Diversity, equality and inclusion are of fundamental importance in ensuring that people from all backgrounds are aware of the opportunities available to them. That is why at the society we strive to encourage diversity and foster inclusion in all that we do.
