Brunel Law Society

Why is D&I important to your Law Society?

Diversity and inclusion is extremely important to Brunel as the university is home to many ethnicities. It is important to ensure that people from different backgrounds get equal opportunities to showcase their skills on a global scale which is what we aim for at Brunel.

Highlights of ways that your Law Society has tried to increase diversity

We have recently created the position of Equality and Diversity Officer within the society who ensures that society remains inclusive and safeguards the interests of the individuals from less privileged backgrounds.  Aspiring Solicitors’ Universities Officer representative, Jagwinder Kaur,  visited our university to discuss increasing diversity in the work force. At Brunel, everyone’s interests are taken into account regardless of background.

As someone who is part of the first generation in their family to attend university, I believe the most important thing is giving people the opportunity to excel where they previously may have believed that they could not.
