Profile:

I qualified as a Solicitor in 2010, having trained at a boutique City firm. I was admitted to the New York Bar in 2012 and I became a Solicitor-Advocate that same year. I sit as an arbitrator and act as a self-employed consultant. My legal practice involves advising in respect of all aspects of dispute resolution, with particular focus on commercial litigation and international arbitration. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law.

Educated at a state school, I studied law at Aberystwyth University, obtaining a First. In order to fund my further studies I worked part-time throughout the LPC. As the first person in my family to become a lawyer, I have first-hand experience of the difficulties inherent in entering the legal profession without contacts and of obtaining relevant work experience to pursue a career in London while studying in Wales.

I am delighted to support Aspiring Solicitors as I strongly believe that access to the legal profession should be dependent on ability not background. Society is best served by a profession that reflects its diversity and Aspiring Solicitors plays an invaluable role in fulfilling this goal. Promoting diversity plays a central role in many of my professional activities.

I have devoted nearly a decade to promoting diversity in the legal profession, and received the CPR’s 2022 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity in recognition of my diversity advocacy. I serve as a member of the Advisory Council of ArbitralWomen and as an Ambassador for the Alliance for Equality in Dispute Resolution and R.E.A.L. – Racial Equality for Arbitration Lawyers.

I founded ‘Careers in Arbitration’ in 2019 to support the next generation of diverse arbitration practitioners. This platform now has in excess of 56,000 followers globally. Other initiatives include ARBalance, a platform focusing on mental health and wellbeing in the arbitration field, and the GAR Pledge Award-nominated Women in Arbitration weekly news digest ‘WiADay’.
