Black Aspiring Solicitors Mentoring Scheme 2019

Aspiring Solicitors is delighted to deliver our first Black Aspiring Solicitors Mentoring Scheme to 23 black / mixed black AS members. This year’s scheme will run from September 2019 and will be open to both law and non-law students who are eligible for a vacation scheme (i.e. penultimate or final year students). Aspiring Solicitors will be partnering with Mayer Brown, Reed Smith and HSF who will each run their own individual scheme.

Securing a place on the scheme will not only give you access to regular mentoring with Mayer Brown, Reed Smith or HSF lawyers, but you will also have the opportunity to attend bespoke workshops covering everything from a tailored application masterclass, interview masterclass and how to tackle commercial awareness questions.  Each of Mayer Brown, Reed Smith and HSF will also host exclusive networking events, allowing you to meet trainees, associates and partners, whilst building your profile ahead of the competitive application season.

To benefit from this mentoring scheme, you must be accepted onto our AS Aspire Programme.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must be of black or mixed black heritage, have achieved ABB at A level and be on track to receiving a 2:1 university degree classification.

You must also be accepted onto our AS Aspire programme, through which you will also receive coaching from the Employability Team at Aspiring Solicitors.
