In the recent months, the University of Cambridge has received some damning press around it’s diversity statistics. Well, it appears something very exciting has started to happen at Cambridge this term…
Following the fantastic efforts of the Aspiring Solicitors Campus Ambassadors Aimee Harper/Will Legood and the University of Cambridge Careers Service, there have been a record number of registered Aspiring Solicitors members so far this term (the 2nd highest number of registered members from all UK universities) and their diversity statistics makes for encouraging reading!
The only university to have amassed more diverse registered Aspiring Solicitors members this year is Queen Mary University, where Aspiring Solicitors has enjoyed a fantastic numbers of registered members each year since inception.
Only Aspiring Solicitors diverse registered members can utilise the unrivalled number of events with our partner law firms and legal teams, one-to-one mentoring, skills programmes and more available.
Chris White, former City lawyer and Founder of Aspiring Solicitors commented:
“We are so proud of all of our Campus Ambassadors across the UK but Aimee and Will deserve special recognition for their efforts so far this year. Aspiring Solicitors relies heavily on our Campus Ambassador network to spread the word about the fantastic opportunities Aspiring Solicitors has to offer the best diverse aspiring solicitors. Our Campus Ambassadors have done us proud again, in particular our those at universities [listed below] who have helped us to register record numbers of diverse members so far this year. We are starting to move the legal diversity dial in the direction it must continue to move to ensure senior lawyers in the profession in the future accurately reflect our society, which to date, our profession has failed to achieve.”
