Registration for the newly revamped Aspiring Solicitors Commercial Awareness Competition closed on Sunday with a record number of universities taking part.
Congratulations to the University of Bristol in first place, recording its highest ever number of CAC entrants with 51. Durham also managed to cling onto a second spot, surpassing its previous record with a total of 45 entrants.
A late rally from the Non-Russell Group wasn’t enough to shake things up at the top, but for Sussex who rose spectacularly on the final day to break into the Top 5 to prevent a Russell Group clean sweep. The University of Greenwich also posted strong figures, with a finish in 8th place.
CAC City stalwarts Kings College London, Queen Mary University of London and UCL with a formidable showing once again this year also made it into the Top 10.
This year, entrants register as individuals for the first time, ensuring that the most commercially aware individuals will reach the Final at Barclays HQ in Canary Wharf.
A further change sees the Competition align with the traditional graduate recruitment cycle, providing entrants who catch the eye of sponsoring law firms with an even better chance of acquiring a training contract.
Instructions and the LexisNexis pre-reading have been circulated to entrants in advance of Round 1 on Sunday.
Good luck to all entrants!
