Profile:

I am an Associate in the IP, Data Protection and Commercial Tech & Outsourcing department at Norton Rose Fulbright. I completed my training at the firm in August 2021. As part of my training, I undertook four seats in the following: (1) Corporate M&A, (2) General Banking, (3) Project Finance (secondment) and (4) IP, Data Protection and Commercial Tech & Outsourcing.

As a first-generation immigrant growing up in Manchester, I had no connections in London, let alone in Big Law. Furthermore, I had come from a non-law background, having graduated with a degree in History from the University of Warwick (2011-2015). As a result, I initially found little success in my applications as I had limited avenues to seek advice.

Joining Aspiring Solicitors vastly increased my opportunities to network with lawyers at various City law firms. Coming into regular contact with graduate recruitment teams and lawyers at all levels gave me the foundation to approach applications with an informed and confident mindset. The mock interview and Springboard event, in particular, were crucial to helping me succeed in the assessment centre stage and in converting my vacation scheme into a training contract.
