Profile:

I am a trainee solicitor at VWV. I came to the UK to pursue my legal studies and career in 2013. As a non-native English speaker, I used to feel self-conscious about my accent, seeing it as a barrier to building a successful legal career. However, I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by people from very diverse backgrounds throughout my journey into law. I studied law in LSE, with its very international teaching and student communities. I quickly learned that my international background was an asset rather than something to hide, so I used it to my advantage to secure work placements in firms and organisations where I knew my skills would be valued.

Diversity and inclusion are important to me because I know how crucial it has been for my own career development to see people from different backgrounds excel in law, and how important it is to be supported and encouraged to fulfil my career potential without the need to fit the mould. I am happy to share any advice and have a chat with any AS members so please feel free to get in touch.
