Profile:
I completed my undergraduate degree in Politics in India before moving to the UK to pursue law. It has always been important to me to see individuals who share my background and experiences represented in the firm where I begin my career. Freshfields’ commitment to diversity was a key factor in my decision, standing out among the other training contract offers I received.
As a former AS Aspire mentee, I can personally attest to the exceptional support they provide to candidates from diverse backgrounds, enabling access to bespoke legal opportunities. Through the program, I attended networking events at several elite City law firms, allowing me to build a robust network of legal professionals and aspiring solicitors alike. In preparation for my assessment centres, the AS team supported me with mock interviews, offering tailored guidance.
More importantly, AS Aspire helped me realise that the legal profession is one that not only deserves but actively strives for equitable representation.
As a mentor, I hope to make you feel a sense of belonging—particularly in a profession that can, at times, leave diverse candidates feeling marginalised.
