My diversity networks

Profile:

My upbringing taught me that privilege and disadvantage are rarely straight forward. I grew up in a council estate as part of a family of five in a 2-bedroom flat. Growing up in these circumstances shaped my perspective and taught me that the barriers or challenges people face are not always immediately visible.

I think that the legal profession should reflect the people that it serves and in order for that to happen, people from all walks of life need to be represented.

Since starting at university, and throughout my time as a trainee, I’ve been lucky to have the guidance from people who took the time to share their advice and experiences with me. Their support helped me find my way through challenges and better understand how to navigate a profession that can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. I’m always happy to chat with anyone and share what I’ve learnt so far!
