I studied Classics at the University of Warwick. I used to attend any and every networking or alumni event on campus to find something I could do with a humanities degree. In my final year I decided to apply for the Winter Vacation Scheme at Travers Smith. The scheme was the right balance of work experience and fun socials including workshops, seminars and office time in varying departments. I found myself feeling more confident about pursuing a career in law. I was lucky enough to gain a training contract offer through the scheme and now four years later I am a trainee at Travers Smith.
After completing my GDL and LPC I spent 5 months as a temporary analyst at Goldman Sachs before commencing my training contract.
I spent my first seat in Corporate Finance where I was able to get involved with M&A deals, public takeovers and company reorganisations. The work has been challenging and certainly never boring. I will commence my second seat in Financial Services and Markets in September.
