Profile:

After finishing my A Levels, I completed my law degree at University of Southampton, graduating in 2018. After finishing my degree, I then worked as a paralegal at Eversheds Sutherland for almost three years, based onsite with the client as part of a managed legal services contract, working across property and regulatory. I started my LPC with MSc part time alongside work whilst at Eversheds, which I completed in June 2022. Shortly before the end of my LPC, I started as a paralegal in the regulatory team at Blake Morgan in Southampton.

During my LPC, as part of my MSc qualification, I undertook a research project about diversity and inclusion in the legal sector. This research was incredibly eye-opening for me and resonated as someone who has not come from an elite background; I attended a state-school, was part of a low income household and was the first in my direct family to attend university.

There is an ever-increasing importance in the legal sector to ensure that the workforce is diverse, to ensure that law firms are recruiting the best talent, regardless of people’s backgrounds. Moreover, it is essential that there is adequate representation amongst legal professionals of all types of background so that all clients are represented when approaching law firms for legal work.
