Associate | Hogan Lovells
- First generation lawyer
- Non-law graduate
I am an Associate at Hogan Lovells where I trained and qualified into the Intellectual Property group.
I grew up in London where I also went to university, graduating in War Studies at Kings College London. In my final year of undergraduate study, I applied for training contracts as I was always interested in being a lawyer, but I was unfamiliar with the application process. I was fortunately offered a training contract at Hogan Lovells and so I went on to complete the GDL and LPC. Before joining, I was able to work in the United States Congress and for charities including the Clinton Foundation.
During my training contract, I sat in the Finance, Banking and Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property departments and I went on a client secondment for my final six months. I am an active member of the Hogan Lovells Multicultural Network and I work on a number of initiatives designed to increase diversity and widen access to careers in the legal profession. I believe strongly that jobs should be made available to people on a meritocratic basis, not because of their connections or background.
