Profile:

I started my ‘legal journey’ when I became part of a mock trial while in high school. From that point forward, I felt determined to join the legal profession. I therefore went on to study an undergraduate degree in Law at the University of Bristol. Following this, I was fortunate enough to undertake postgraduate studies (an LL.M) at the University of Toronto in Canada, after applying for and being awarded the HM Hubbard Law Scholarship. My studies in Canada focussed on health law and bioethics.

Luckily, just before leaving for Canada, I secured my offer to complete a training contract with Penningtons Manches Cooper (PMC). Once I returned from Canada, I began my studies for the LPC at BPP Law School in London. I then started my training contract at PMC in September 2019. I working in a variety of teams before I qualified into Clinical Negligence, an area of law I felt was well suited to my skillset and interests.

Throughout my studies and subsequent career in law, it’s been clear to me that there is a desperate need for more diversity within the profession. We need lawyers who come from a range of backgrounds and can offer differing perspectives to drive the law forward, so that it can properly serve the society in which it operates. I feel it is therefore important to ensure individuals from all backgrounds and cultures aspire to a career in law.
