Rachel is an Associate in Bird & Bird’s International Aviation Group based in London.
She has experience acting for operating lessors and airlines in a variety of aviation transactions. She also deals with a wide range of aviation commercial matters, aircraft sale and purchase, operating leases and asset management.
Alongside her law degree, Rachel holds a BA and MPhil (Cantab) in Environmental Policy and advises on regulatory and compliance issues in relation to airline greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental matters.
Her international upbringing means Rachel is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese with a professional proficiency in French.
Rachel founded Bird & Bird’s BAME Network, Embrace, which is currently engaging in a series of social media, community outreach and internal awareness campaigns. Rachel is an active mentor to young BAME women interested in pursuing a career in law, and she is a regular volunteer at the South Westminster Legal Advice Clinic in Victoria, London, a free legal drop-in advice service helping those on low incomes with a wide range of legal matters. Rachel won the First 100 Years Under 35 Lawyer of the Year at the Inspirational Women in Law Awards 2018.
