Profile:
My journey into law began during secondary school, where I developed a keen interest in the profession through various legal programmes, taster courses, and careers evenings. Speaking directly with solicitors gave me an early insight into the various career paths within law and cemented my ambition to pursue it.
I gained early legal experience through work placements across a range of practice areas, including aviation finance and employment law, which broadened my understanding of how law operates in different commercial contexts.
I went on to study law at University College London (UCL), where I particularly enjoyed modules such as employment law, company law, family law, and jurisprudence. These subjects deepened my interest in both the human and business elements of legal practice.
After graduating, I began working as a paralegal in the Commercial Property team at Knights before moving to Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV), where I joined the Private Client team and later applied internally for a training contract. Following this, I undertook my SQE studies, which have helped strengthen both my academic and practical legal foundations.
I am currently a trainee solicitor at VWV, having completed my first seat in Private Client and now sitting with the Commercial Property team. Each seat has offered valuable hands-on experience and helped shape my developing interests as a future solicitor.
Diversity has played a crucial role in my legal journey and continues to be vital in the workplace. At VWV, I’ve seen firsthand how diversity of thought, background, and experience enriches collaboration, client service, and innovation. I value working in an environment where different perspectives are welcomed and where inclusion is actively promoted. A truly diverse profession is not only fairer but also stronger, and I believe it’s something we should all continue to champion.
