Profile:

I graduated with a degree in law with American legal studies and then went on to complete a Masters in Law. As part of my degree, I completed an internship in New York. I have also completed mini- pupillages at several barrister’s chambers and marshalled three judges in Birmingham Crown Court. After graduating, I spent four years working in the pensions industry before deciding to come back to law. I have been a paralegal at a national law firm, and now I am an Associate in the Pensions team at a global firm after qualifying via the SQE route. My role involves advising sponsoring employers and trustees of defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes on their legal obligations and issues affecting their pension schemes. I am also a member of the firm’s multi-cultural resources group which is part of the wider inclusion and diversity commitment. I volunteer through LawWorks with the Birmingham Legal Advice Clinic which provides free legal advice on certain issues. I also volunteer as part of the Pensions Ombudsman’s early resolution service.

Diversity is important to me because a diverse working environment provides different perspectives, ideas and leads to better collaboration. It also encourages active engagement and contribution. Making the legal profession more diverse will enable us to better represent the communities that we serve.
