Law School Attended
Associate | Norton Rose Fulbright
- State school educated
- First generation lawyer and graduate
- Non-Russell Group University
I am commencing my training contract with Norton Rose Fulbright in March 2018. I graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2014 with a BA (Hons) degree in History, and in 2015 with the Graduate Diploma in Law.
Having attended a state secondary school and non-Russell Group university, on top of having no connections with the legal world within the City, I felt the chances of breaking into City law were minimal. Aspiring Solicitors provided unparalleled opportunities for me to attend Open Days at a number of firms in the City. It was only from this that I was able to gain an idea of the type of firm in which I wanted to build my career.
Aspiring Solicitors also gave me the renewed confidence I needed to persevere through the challenging application process and showed me that diversity only makes you a stronger candidate. Any resource that you can make use of, from the information pages on this website to the ‘Ask Us’ slots, are invaluable.
As an ambassador I would be more than happy to answer any queries, assist with applications, or simply talk to anyone who might be feeling disheartened.
