Profile:
I studied Law at the University of Manchester, and self-funded my LPC. I did a handful of vacation schemes in my second year of university and did not receive training contract offers at the time, but was told that I was “close”; I used this as a learning experience and realised I generally needed to better understand what I wanted from my career and what law firms wanted from its solicitors before applying again. I applied for vacation schemes during my LPC and, after a vacation scheme at Addleshaw Goddard, received a training contract offer. I qualified in September 2024 and am starting to find my feet as an Associate.
As someone who is hard of hearing, I deeply value diversity. When we see others like ourselves in the roles that we aspire to and achieving the goals that we hold, it gives us an understanding that the characteristics we might regard as ‘obstacles’ are more like additional steps to reaching those goals.
