Law School Attended
Future Trainee Solicitor | Hogan Lovells
- International student
- Non-Russell Group University
I am currently a final law student at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and have recently secured a training contract at Hogan Lovells. I previously completed a Bachelors degree in Political Science and International Affairs at the Lebanese American University including a semester abroad at Sciences Po, Paris.
When I moved to the UK, I was immediately struck by the competitive nature of the legal profession and realised that I had to quickly adapt to a new environment in order to successfully secure a training contract.
Upon discovering Aspiring Solicitors, I sought Chris’ help throughout the application process, who taught me to showcase my strengths, such as my international background and proficiency in five languages, in a positive manner.
Additionally, I secured a place at AS opportunities such as the Summer Springboard Program and most notably, the Barclays Legal Experience Weeks (BLEW), which were invaluable experiences. I also completed a vacation scheme at Akin Gump as well as work experience at White & Case Abu Dhabi.
From a personal perspective, I am a big advocate for diversity in the legal profession and recently spoke at the House of Lords Chamber Event about increasing diversity in Parliament, where I commended Aspiring Solicitors for their work and suggested similar programs for the political arena.
Therefore, I am extremely looking forward to helping those wanting to pursue a legal career as well as sharing my experiences and answering any questions.
