Profile:

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a law degree in 2017. I completed my LPC at BPP in Manchester before going on to commence my training contract in September 2018. I did two vacation schemes with national law firms prior to this, and had work experience with a magic circle firm.
I’m currently in the final seat of my training contract. During my training contract I’ve had the opportunity to go on secondment, and work with the in house legal team of one of our commercial clients.
Gaining a training contract is not easy. Aspiring Solicitors were particularly helpful for me in terms of increasing my commercial awareness. I believe having strong commercial awareness is key in setting candidates apart from others in interviews and at assessment centres.
I also believe it is important to select the firm that is right for you, and a firm where you can see yourself thriving with the training and opportunities that are on offer. It is just as much about you selected the firm as it is about them selecting you!
