Law School Attended
Trainee Solicitor | Allen & Overy
- First generation lawyer
I am currently a trainee solicitor at Allen & Overy LLP. I completed vacation schemes at A&O and Linklaters in 2015, subsequently receiving three training contract offers. Before joining A&O, I graduated from the University of Warwick with a First Class degree in Law and Business.
My biggest piece of advice for the youngest aspiring solicitors is to start early. I completed several first year schemes; these experiences enabled me to 100% confirm that this was the career for me and convincingly answer the inevitable “Why do you want to pursue a career in Commercial Law?” question.
Commercial law seems to be getting more and more competitive. As the former President of Warwick Law Society, I have been heavily involved in careers events and support. This has really opened my eyes to the variety of struggles that students can face in the search for that elusive training contract, whether it is their background, grades, illness or disability.
I am a strong supporter of diversity in the legal profession and am keen to play my part in promoting further diversity. I was lucky enough to have received help from numerous sources during the application process and I am very keen to assist other aspiring solicitors. Please feel free to email me with any queries.
