Trainee solicitor | PwC
- First generation lawyer
- Ethnic minority
I am the epitome of the third culture child as a half-Jamaican half-German who has grown up all over the world from Taiwan to Malta, India, Brunei and even Djibouti. Having grown up in so many different cultures, the importance of diversity and openness is at the forefront of my outlook on life. From a young age I was intrigued by law because it defined so distinctly the societal beliefs of an area. That is why it is so important that the law is shaped and interpreted by people with differences because that is how new ideas are put forward and ways of doing things are improved.
PwC is a diverse and global community and one whose revolutionary way of producing multi-disciplinary advice is the golden answer to clients who need a firm with a holistic, complete and practical approach. I would never have expected to be working for such an amazing company if it was not for the advice, as well as the failures, while going through law school and applying for training contracts. I would love to help other future trainee solicitors, or just those with an interest in something legal, embrace their diversity and use it as an asset, rather than just a mark.
